You don’t need to be able to touch your toes; you just have to be willing to try.

Vinyasa, translated to “Flowing with breath”, is a dynamic style of Hatha Yoga which, joins physical postures, or asanas, with inhales and exhales, creating a steady internal rhythm for the practice. Our Flow classes are designed to cultivate heat within the body with creative sequences involving Sun Salutations, standing and seated postures, back bending, arm balancing and a strong focus upon the power of the breath awareness. Flow yoga classes tend to be more vigorous and aerobic, and classes can have a variety of music and themes. The sequence of postures change from class to class with each class working towards that peak pose and various themes.

Jivamukti Yoga is an integrated yoga practice which combines the physical, spiritual & ethical aspects of yoga whilst encouraging practitioners to take their yoga off the mat and incorporate it into there daily lives. An Open class presents classical yoga teachings as relevant to our life, we work from the Focus of the Month essay, and the largest portion of most Jivamukti classes consists of Asana - a flowing vinyasa sequence creatively designed by the teacher. Practiced at your own pace, following the teacher’s verbal, as well as optional hands-on guidance, classes are supported by chanting, breath awareness, flowing alignment exploration, relaxation and meditation.

Jivamukti Spiritual Warrior

Jivamukti Spiritual Warrior classes are for yogis who only have an hour to practice. Jivamukti Yoga embodies yoga as a living translation of the Indian system in a way that Western minds can comprehend. The structure is a fixed set sequence instructed in a vinyasa style. It includes asana warm up, chanting, setting of intention, surya namaskar, standing poses, backbends, forward bends, twists, inversions, meditation and relaxation. The teacher focuses on keeping the pace moving, the class is fast paced and invigorating. Since the asana sequence is always the same and never changes in Spiritual Warrior, a student will pick it up quite quickly after only a couple of classes.
